Nadia Forsythe has led trips in the Cascades since 2011. Dermot Chase keeps twelve sets of trekking poles in the van and knows which mile one hundred forty of the coast has cell service.

Pussywillow Journeys runs small-group tours out of Portland, Oregon, plus custom trips built around the week you actually have. Every departure leaves from our office on Northeast Alberta Street at seven in the morning, loaded with umbrellas we rarely need and a cooler of Stumptown coffee we always finish.

All three run rain or shine, with a maximum of twelve guests and a minimum of six. Seats left are counted on the Tuesday before each departure.

A block of six seats is held on every departure until forty-five days out, so families and friends travelling together can still book as one group.
What we bring every morning
We keep the kit list short because the van only holds so much, and because everything on it is something a guide has used a hundred times.

Five vetted driving plans, each with two snack stops, a backup plan for heavy rain and a printed map in case the signal drops between Corbett and Cascade Locks.
From the founders
In the fall of 2014 we drove six friends to Wahclella Falls in a borrowed station wagon and came home with a waiting list. We registered the company that December. Twelve years later there are four guides, two aging Suburbans and a reservation on TriMet route 8 that has been the same on every website page we have ever published.
Every tour is designed by the person who walks it, and a guide still drives the first morning of every new route. Meet the whole team

Our topbar and desk are open either side of every departure morning, usually by six. If the van is gone, we can still be reached by phone or email — we answer between drives and in the meals we stop for.
